Revels, Inc. had its beginnings in Cambridge, Massachusetts, where the first Christmas Revels was performed in 1971. Three years later Revels, Inc., was founded as a non-profit organization and has since established production companies in other cities throughout the United States. All companies perform annual productions of The Christmas Revels: In Celebration of the Winter Solstice. Many produce events at other times of the year as well.
